My mother Dy'Ans named me MARQUI with the intention that I would someday become an Artist and have a signature name to carry on the family Art legacy.  

As a young child, I was exposed to the Arts watching my mother painting in her studio everyday.  She would often invite me to sit and paint with her.  She gave me masonite boards or canvases to work on under her careful instruction.  From an early age, I learned about color and mixing, became comfortable with brushes and their differences and from that point, I began the journey to becoming the artist I am today.

  The most vivid memory I have was the discovery of a color named Alizurin Crimson.  I not only fell in love with the name but also found zeal spreading it into every flower I painted. It has such rich vibrancy and it was at that moment, I fell in love with color.  

She taught me perhaps the most important technique that I use almost everyday in my Art...She would say, "Pull the dark into the light and light into the dark." That is the key to my perfectly blended softness in the eyes.  In every smokey eye, there is a movement from the light into the medium then into the dark and back again, finishing with the light.  

I have been blessed with an artistic gift and I am pleased to share this gift with women of all ages.  My canvas is you and my goal is to help you reach your highest beauty potential.
